small bird. Tyrannus forficatus is a long-tailed insect-eating bird closely related to the kingbirds. The mature bird has the head, neck, flanks, and rump blue grey, and the wings cinnamon, mottled with black. rounded wings and a very long tail. I spotted a black bird with no identifiable shoulder stripe but with a white stripe beneath the tail. The feet and bill are black. Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. The black and white patch on the side of the neck is absent in the browner and duller juvenile bird, which also has the legs brown.

Wingspan is about 60 cm (24 in). Gregarious and noisy residents, long-tailed tits are most usually noticed in small, excitable flocks of about 20 birds. The tail is long and makes up half of the bird's length. The wingspan is 89–96 cm. The abdomen and under tail coverts are white. The adult white-tailed tropicbird is a slender, mainly white bird, 71–80 cm long including the very long central tail feathers, which double its total length.

The bird has a black band on the inner wing, a black eye-mask, and an orange-yellow to orange-red bill. They have dark wings and an extremely long black tail. The Willie Wagtail is a little bird with a long, fanned tail. It was in Thunder Bay (north-west) Ontario in mid-summer.
